Gaul Tips

So I'm going as Gauls this time on s3 as I tend to play defensively. Any tips for early game strategy? I was thinking of cranny def until I could get some TTs made to get into raiding as Phalanx are crap for attacking and swordsmen are expensive imo.

Thoughts, suggestions?

Build crannys til you can get a good Army.. i think..

Shit, don't bother with crannies, they are worthless. lv4 cranny is all a gaul needs, if that. Your best defense is an active account. Use your resources immediately when an upgrade is available, and you won't have resources to steal. Crannies just piss-off active raiders, who tend to be Teuton anyway, whereas empty villages and constant growth force raiders to look elsewhere.

Red, I can't use Skype anymore. It KILLS my internet connection. I've tried reinstalling, upgrading, disabling firewall, you name it. If I use skype, my connection gets denied for days. I'll buy a new computer sometime after moving to Missoula (leaving Austin August 1st!!!), if I have any money left . . . I'll try Skype again after that.
