When do we start on the restart?

After we get this settled, we can decide what quadrant to settle, etc. Once we have all our infrastructure decisions made, we can make further plans.

I think two weeks is ideal. If we start from day one we will get only 3 days protection and we will be close to the sever centre. I think it's a bad idea to start from day one if we are not offensive right from the begining. If we start later we will get more protection time and we settle anywhere when we are ready.

In terms of my thinking, when we start 2 weeks later, we can be more aggressive . We will have many farms around us, so we will grow quickly.
We will have few enemies, so we will grow unchallanged.
Those who don't wish to farm can grow in peace.
We can work on building armies without having to waste them on silly early server fighting, because we will be away from the center.
That's why I voted for 2 weeks .

I'm willing to try the 2 week plan as well.

A few days. I'm thinking like 5 days tops. Remember, if we're all too close, then that means we won't have good farms as we'll have to share them.

I'd be fine with a week too though. Two weeks seems like far too much.

I'm going for a few days. Two weeks is long enough for a lot of other people and alliances to get settled. Remember, you want farms - not to be farms.

Ok, I'm cancelling my vote for 2 weeks ... I think we should look at a maximum of 1 week.

I like the prospect of being close together. You can finish trades faster and get reinforcements faster. Good point on the raids though - it would be harder to find places to farm.

Immediately is the worst time to start. Most of the people beginning that early are return players, so will have some experience. i.e. fewer decent farms, and the ones that are farms will be picked clean by the heavy competition between experienced players. Also, to find good croppers you will have to look in multiple quadrants, and if this server has taught us anything it is that the N-S and E-W axes are the source of much enmity.

I'd say a week minimum, a month would be better. The only thing to be gained by joining immediately is the possibility to be the #1 Simmer on the server. So Red, you may want to join right away

I still think my three month entry was perfect, give or take a week.

Well, Wiggy, you're apparently the kind of person who is able to play that often every day. I started a month or so in and didn't play more than an hour total a day (most days I would probably play like 20-30 mins total). You managed to get far ahead probably because of that, but not all of us have that opportunity.

Plus, we'd be way behind. I'm sticking with my 4-8 days.

I used to play 20-30 minutes a day, but as I gained more villages, it started taking longer.

My vote's for a month. We'll still be close enough to each other for trade & reinforcements, but hopefully far enough apart to have our own farms. Also by owning more real estate we'll be able to control more croppers.

I really don't see many benefits in waiting very long before we join. IF we are as many players as expected it will be no problem to start a few days after the server launches; we will be many in the same areas and can hence easily rule - also over a few experienced players.

McK, one of the biggest drawbacks to joining at the beginning is that you WILL be close together. That may be good in the beginning, but it limits your influence later in the game. Not to mention the farming aspect. Early on you will all be competing for the same, limited number of farms. Once those farms dry up, they dry up. At that point you have to hope your own members go inactive to find enough resources to maintain your growth.

I just started S4 for the heck of it while I wait for the reset. On the first day I already got placed out at -92|-27. That's quite a distance from the center cluster already and a good space from others starting that first day - I'm hardly competing with someone who's placed at -27|-100 at this point. So if someone waits weeks to start that server, they'll either be plopped down amidst all the established players (i.e., in good position to be their farm) or be placed way out in Timbuktu. Maybe some of you enjoy the isolated placement, but I like to be close enough to have some gameplay.

We can always start wherever travian decides to place us, and then expand fast, and build our second city in a common place, where we can grow strong and big all together.

But that would waste our time quite a bit. Plus, we would lose a city no matter what, as it will be useless to us. It's much better to start out in a similar area.

Of course, that area shouldn't be too similar, since we will need to share farms.

I think we should start a day or two later

We will be far away from eachother but we wont have the problems of getting a late start

Sephilli - i know farms are important for some, but really, if you can get your hourly production to flow just with the resource-fields you have in your town, your much better going. If you have to rely on farms you never know what will happen!

The farms can go inactive = no more resources for you
Your army can be killed by another big player raiding = no more resources for you.

One of the most important things i learned when i started playing travian was that i needed to make sure i didn't rely on farms - as you never know whats going to happen

Anyways, i woted 1 week - think 1 week is enough to wait, then we will end up side by side with some noobs and late - joiners that play casual i guess

Do keep in mind that more people than just us are waiting to restart too. Many other people will restart on the first day. It doesn't really matter when we restart, just as long as there are enough people in front of us to fill the close to the center places.

I started the first day on S4 like - Lady Aelia. I am right on the center. i am just growing as a gaul.

I just started the teutons on s2.us. I love raiding. I am stuck. romans suck. middle gets action. So I think I will be in at the start. in the NE so I can be a spy.

Ideally for me our starting points should be +/- 75|-75 to +/-100/100

For me it is best to activate our accounts on day 2 to day 4..

your not in middle but you dont lose those 2 weeks

I think, it's best for us to start 1-2 weeks after the restart, since it'll be crowded if we started right away. It's the same experience I'm having right now in S2, which I am now being farmed. Damn those mother f****** b@$+@RD$!!!!!!!
